Join the 60th Annual Oktoberfest in Hamilton, Ohio

Promotional poster for Oktoberfest celebrating 60 years, featuring event details, date, and location.

Long before “Oktoberfest” became a marketing gimmick slapped on every pumpkin-spice-adjacent beer release, the Liberty Home German Society in Hamilton, Ohio was already doing the real thing. This weekend they’re celebrating their 60th annual Oktoberfest, making it one of the longest continuously running Oktoberfest celebrations in the entire United States — older than the Super Bowl, older than the moon landing, and just as beloved by locals who’ve been coming back for six decades. Expect authentic German food, live oompah bands, and the kind of biergarten atmosphere that makes you wonder why you don’t polka more often.

The celebration runs Friday through Sunday at the Liberty Home Association grounds, with the party kicking into gear Friday evening and stretching into a full weekend of food, music, and steins raised in honor of tradition. Bratwurst, schnitzel, and German beer are the stars of the show, and with six decades of practice, this crew knows exactly how to throw a festival that feels like it was airlifted straight out of Bavaria.
